Research focuses on the sustainable synthesis and functionalization of both natural and synthetic materials, prioritizing low-environmental-impact approaches such as mechanochemistry for the development of advanced systems. By employing organic chemistry as a versatile tool, the work spans several application areas: in the environmental field, focusing on the adsorption, release, and conversion of carbon dioxide and volatile organic compounds (VOCs); in catalysis, with a specific emphasis on CO2 fixation and conversion, the study of metal-catalyzed reactions, and biocatalysis for selective transformations; and finally, in the pharmaceutical field, for the development of systems with antibacterial properties and targeted drug-delivery applications.
