February, 2006: PhD in Technology of  Biological Active Molecule at University of  Palermo with a thesis entitled “Anticancers loaded nanoparticles: technological and in vitro evaluation”

Work experiences:

January, 1^st – December, 30^th 2008: Post-Doctoral grantship fellow in Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Catania, Department of Pharmaceutical Science. Main focus of the research activity: Anticancers delivery by colloidal carriers (liposome and nanoparticles).

Grant on “Drug carrier for treatment of neurodegenerative  CNS diseases” financed by MIUR (supervisor prof. Puglisi), in particular she dealt with “Physico-chemical, technological  evaluations  of new copolymers as potential biomaterial for  drug delivery” Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Catania.

February 2006 – July 2006

Grant on  “Drug carrier for treatment of neurodegenerative  CNS diseases” financed by MIUR (supervisor prof. Puglisi), in particular she dealt with “Development of analytical method to evaluate D-cycloserine stability on aqueous solvents”.  Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Catania.

Scientific activity

Main focus of the research activity: (i) New copolymers to obtain colloidal drug carrier; (ii) Thermal analysis to study drug-biomembrane models interaction; (iii) Nanotechnology for anticancer therapy and to obtain brain targeting by intranasal administration.

Co-Author and/or corresponding author in full papers (41). Co-author in book chapters. She has attended the International and National meetings.She has reviewed papers for several international journals in the field of Pharmaceutical Technology.
