The Department of Drug and Health Sciences, whose acronym inside the Universty of Catania is DSFS, is located in the main campus of the University of Catania, named University Centre Santa Sofia (CUSS), and has the aim of coordinating, developing and spreading the formation and research in the fields of Drug Sciences and Health products.

The department has as its objective the study of drug and health products from different points of view by a strong interdisciplinary approach. At present time there are about 60 members forming the academic staff. Researchers working in the department keep active collaborations with universities and research centers both in Italy as well as in Europe and other countries.

Inside the department there is a Library and study rooms available to students who attend the courses of the Department.

The department of Drug and Health Sciences hosts the School of Specialization in Hospital Pharmacy.
